This is the best dram I've ever had. The sherry cask is so well-integrated... The power, the overwhelming taste of supreme quality. Adelphi always knows how to pick one, and since this is, thus far, the best I've ever had, I'll give it 100. I've got a full bottle and will revisit it some time in future... To see if it's still the best!

    Very nicely balanced!

      Fruity and typically Mortlach

Peach, lemongrass, earth, metal / iron-like, ground, strawberry, crème bruleé,

Sherry !, sulfur, metallic, pepper, raisins, dark chocolate, white grape, lemongrass and even some meaty and salty.

    • Nose
      Blind sample:

      Colour:
      Light amber

      Nose:
Grain ??… dried herbs, barren steppe, straw, plus a fresh note of mint. Synthetic resin, dried mandarins, walnut, sour plum, very set. A bit of dark chocolate, sourdough, bread crust and a kind of beer smell.
With a little time in the glass, more spices come and it becomes more floral.
The empty glass smells of more citrus notes and straw.
    • Taste
Gentleman entry. Very soft but voluminous. Preserved fruit notes. In addition, very set and waxy. Sour apple. With the second sip, the floral notes come through more clearly.
    • Finish
Medium length. Very waxy and pleasantly spicy. Remain a gentleman until the end.

My tip was under 50%, over 20 years and grain with a sherry finish.

Nose: lots of fruit, green fruit, some sherry and caramel.
Taste: From the first sip, the strong aroma of this whisky is felt. On the tongue we can find apples, sweet elements of sherry, elements of oak. The whole is very pleasantly complex.
Rating: 90 | 100. Long fruity finish. Very good Mortlach !

Opens up with water. Getting some red fruit, cherry, pepper, and keeman tea notes. Long finish, nice mouth feel, sherry apparent.

N- Sticky apple compote with caramel and herb oilmen. Savoury bbq sauce with good layer of honey glaze. The sherry influence here are modern and breezy that make the nosing of this bottling rather modest. But strength are felt at the tail and developed well into milky smoked chocolate and waxy fruits. (89/22)

P- Dry sweet sherry prevails as it should be, sweet spice of clove, aniseed in the mix. (89/22)

F- Long. Quality liquid, ain't too punchy and keeping it light and gentle. (87/21)

    B/B- 89/22

    Weighted Rate- 87pt

P- Probably one of this day that I am having a fatigue on write up a notes, or perhaps is the thick haze surrounding the atmosphere. Struggled for two days to taste this and not heading anyway productive. Dry sweet sherry prevails as it should be, sweet spice of clove, aniseed in the mix. (89/22)

Rather fresh, dark chocolate and coffee, nice oak driven notes, slightly sour, and leathery. Punchy meaty notes, which is typical from Mortlach, some aromatic hydrocarbon. More leather shoes and leather handbags, slight hint of saltiness. Nice minty and nuttiness appear after a sip.
    • Taste

Salty arrival, which is a pleasant surprise. Bloody and meaty, as if you're tasting raw steak. Slightly sweet, slightly oaky. Liquorice, mixed nuts,
    • Finish

Nutty finish, rather long, with a freshness that hard to come by in modern whiskies.
