From a 1920s Blenders Glass, initially light alcohol notes and a fruit basket, a fruit compote in beautiful balance with a cool, spicy oak note. Even in the Classic Malt Glass it is generally warmer and more balanced, one cannot speak of a sherry bomb in the new-fashionable sense. Over time, i.e. the oxidation, doesn't change that much, he hasn't really woken up yet, which is perhaps also due to the "only" 46% alcohol. For the first time ever in a glass, I would have expected more, more complexity, more bang. Anyway, all these fine nuances suggest a really good following experience, because it is free of any faults and tells you quietly "come on, let's go, let me taste you"! 90P from me.

    mouth and finish:
Creamy, oily, as the first sip of alcohol of the evening it doesn't hurt you at all, doesn't bite, doesn't kick, but lies wonderfully soft on the tongue and spreads warmly in the mouth. Saliva starts flowing immediately, the taste impression is completely parallel to the nasal impression. Oak, which does not push into the foreground but transports and supports the restrained fruity notes of sherry - dates, plums, sultanas. There is little sweetness, no captivating bitterness, thoughts of a re(re)fill cask come to mind. Beautifully warming and full-bodied, without exuberance. I hardly dare to say it, but unfortunately it fades away quite quickly and leaves a nice impression in the mouth, which cries out for the second sip.

Conclusion: A very decelerating malt with that certain Glenfarclas something, but not too much of it, without even the smallest hair in the soup. With little wow-factor. If there was something like that for 300 Euros and a little bit of something to buy nowadays, I would go home with a six-pack.
