Nose: neat: grassy, floral, malt, vanilla, sweet but on what to me seems caramel (bitter sweet), and finally a fruity note that I identify as pineapple. I have to say that it's incredibly easy to nose despite the 57% abv! with water: improves quite a bit, more balanced with the fruits being brought to the front. this is a great, complex whisky!
Taste: neat: very malty, peppery, the oak making it's presence more felt but still very enjoyable. the peat is much more felt than on the nose (I can't detect it at all in the nose), and the same fruity note as on the nose (tropical, still feels like pineapple). As with the nose, very easy to drink despite the high alcohol strength. with water: doesn't change as much as with the nose, but still water seems to "polish" things up and the slight oak astringency completely goes away!
Finish: neat: medium-long, oily but slightly mouth drying at the same time, with peat and malt lasting the longest. with water: pretty much the same.
Comments: This is the second Longrow of the night, and although I liked the Longrow 14 better, this is still a brilliant, brilliant whisky! It's complex, keeps you on the look out for finding other flavours and scents and is tremendously satisfying!
MY SCORE: Highly Recommended
