This is a very enjoying whisky in fact! Which evolves along the way, from nose till finish it's getting more intense and full. Lots of fruity notes, in a blind tasting I would have guessed there was some sherry cask finish involved somehow...
Had this one head-2-head with the 46% edition, and I really like this Cask Strength more. Fruitier, full body, strong but with nicely integrated alcohol. And the cigar tobacco at the end makes it all very nice.
Surprisingly good whisky for such a young age!

Pretty fruity! prunes, raisins, and it reminds me of a Grappa or Armagnac. Some glue as well. Herbal, cinnamon. Later on some vanilla comes in, and some rye influences.

Warming, alcohol is very well integrated in the spirit. First it is pretty pungent, later on the influence of the alcohol gets lesser (probably getting used to it). Some sweet tastes, like vanilla, honey, caramel. Rye is coming through, some light red fruits (berries or something), apricots. Intense whisky.

It's getting even stronger now, warming, sweet, honey and vanille. Some notes of wood. Pretty long finish, fruits coming in now: apricots, prunes, raisins, and even some hints of chocolate.
And then, at the end, some real cigar tobacco arrives! After a while it's like I've been chewing on a cigar. And I like it ;-).

Cley from Rotterdam – founded in 2015, which explains why the product only sees the light of day now – will start the production of their own biological single malt as of October 2018. But I enjoy their first so-called Malt & Rye whisky. The release at 46% was more than okay, so let’s try this cask strength release now.
Oh! This nose is a lot more fruity than the one of his ‘little brother’ at drinking strength. I get dark and sweet fruit from the get-go in the guise of apricots, plums and raisins. Tobacco leaves and rye toast. The rye gives it a nice spiciness. Some vanilla and honey. It even smells a bit succulent. Nice!
Good body. Oily, almost syrupy. Nicely sweet on dark fruit like in the nose, joined by some nutmeg, saffron and black pepper. Apricots and blueberries. Sturdy fellow, but very flavorsome.
The finish is warm, spicy, feisty and long and all the fruit from the nose passes by once more.
Hard to believe it is the same whisky. Undiluted it is much better. The sample was offered by distiller Paul den Dulk. Congrats, sir!
