A very good one, if you like peaty whiskies.
    • Nose
      86 86
The smell of peat is very obvious a soon as you open the bottle. Sweet, clean, citrus fruits, a little grainy and austere. A whiff of mild cheese in the background.
    • Taste
      87 87
Very sweet at first mouthfeel. Then powerful with plenty of peat when swallowed. Zesty and spicy, peppery with citrus fruits. Very good.
    • Finish
      89 89
Very long and spicy, warming from deep inside. A lovely finish.

In the nose first an unusual vegetable note, which I do not know how to classify properly. Smoke but also quite discreet, I think.
This vegetable does not let me go, I know that, but I can not assign it. Vanilla is also there, but rather as a sauce and also quite discreet.
Then the first sip without water ...
Wamm, which smacks like a fruit vanilla bomb with light pepper (probably the almost 60% owed) and then smolders again with a nice, stewed in lemon, vegetables. Very oily, then he shoots you all taste buds.
Suddenly it "clicks" and I know what that reminds me. Glazed ginger. So in the true sense no vegetables. But now I do not taste and smell anything else, except now and then for a light touch of vanilla sauce. A really very pronounced flavor of this turned into crystal sugar presented sweet-bitter root spice.
In the finish again the dominant citrus flavors with very restrained barrel influence and more of the pudding-like sauce.

I like it very much. For the long flavor sniffing determines not the right one, but for a young Aufdiefressemalt he comes very well and also very complex.

Edit: With only very little water, it is much more pleasing, but loses none of its aromas. Only the ginger, which I actually liked very much, takes something off and gives way to the barrel ...
