    The whisky is no match for being exclusively bottled for XY ...

    In fact, the bottle came to me perfectly, not like some book with various "dog-ears" etc. In the bottle carton - I was positively surprised ...

    In terms of taste, others can certainly write better and more flowery notes. When I tasted it, I thought of a happy grinning squirrel running around on the beach with the red wine glass in his hand as the ecumenical church notes topple the salty book in the polyacrylic chair down the cliff.

    In that sense, let him (or she?) Taste you. Notes are subjective and a matter of taste. And we will not get XY out of the Whisk (e) ymarkt with a negative review here.

    One may think of amazonian businessmanship as one might want - this whisky is no match for having been bottled for this group. He does not deserve a boycott, it would be a wonderful experience lost. He has reminded me several times of the great Springbank Burgundy - for me still a benchmark whisky in terms of red wine maturation. Only this Bowmore has a bit more smoke. And that is very harmoniously connected with the sweet and sour fruit, everything takes place at a very high level.

    • Nose
      Even while pouring in, I get a foreboding of what's to come - a wonderful fruit compote of red berries. And the first nose confirms that promptly. And immediately there is a nice mild and not too intrusive smoke, which sets him apart quite clearly from his colleagues on the South Coast Riege. Sweet and spicy like a crackling log fire with aromatic fat woods. And over it simmered in an old copper kettle the aforementioned compote from all sorts of berries and ripe bananas, already set on the bottom of the kettle lightly. It is sweetened with dark caramelized cane sugar and a vanilla bar. From the open window blowing harsh sea air with a nice salty spice. The French barrels are noticeable by slightly scorched oak wood, but hold back pretty much whether the smoke. All this flatters the nose and I can not wait to try it too.
    • Taste
      Here the smoke is much stronger, spicy-sweet and underlaid with much fruit, he dresses the whole mouth. Again, a lot of robust and lightly baked berry compote, which starts at the beginning with a beautiful vanilla sweetness, but in the course of more and more sour flavors to light days. The berries are accompanied by juicy grapefruit and limes, some orange zest and again ripe sweet bananas. The fruit acid begins to tingle on the tongue, the pre-occupancy of the barrels with red wine has done a nice job. The French oak barrels can show much more profile here, with beautiful dark spicy roasting aromas they provide with their strong tannins for a pleasant chocolate bitterness, which does not deter, but everything rounds off nicely. The alcohol is sustainable, albeit with a cool crisp freshness always noticeable.
    • Finish
      The sweet fruit does not linger for too long, along with a nice spicy vanilla sweetness, it disappears quite quickly. What lasts long is the aromatic sweet smoke, which over time becomes more and more dry and ashen.

      Fruity, fresh with plenty of red berries, spices, wood, herbs, anise and of course smoke. Over time, coffee and mint are added. Nice nose!

      Nice fruity and quite tart with a decent load of wood. There are typical red wine notes, of course, smoke, as well as red rubber animals and cocoa.
    • Finish

      Medium to long, warming, wine, dark chocolate, mint, oak and again the herbs.

      Smoke, raspberry, nettle, fruit ... further dry, wine notes ... lots of grass and sour wood ... standing up seeds and mint ... dried fruits in raw dough ... lube oil and a drop of iodine ... a bag of candy in rustling wrappers (22)

      Wine and salt finish ... fruit and cardboard ... iodine and sweet skin ... wood and sweet spices (22.5)

    Great varied nose, in the mouth clearly red wine influence, the aftertaste pleasant, but unspectacular.
    Definitively not a bad and depending on prey scheme the called price already worth.

      Directly pleasant fruity nose, intense wine notes, over there is slightly ashy smoke, to the fruitiness mixes a little bit Bowmoreveilchen, some mint, the smoke has now a greasy note, milk chocolate brings a creamy note, elderberry syrup, must just think of a Hugo, the back of the nose turns from clearly vinous and fruity more direction fresh and creamy, the elderberry syrup is now omnipresent, a touch of furniture polish, the longer it stands, the more oak comes through

      oily, vinous, noticeably more oak in the mouth, the smoke nestles on the fruity tart notes, raisins, almost chew, thickened cherry juice, light acidity, dark, not sweet, rather tart and dry, has actual strong influence of red wine, good Drinking strength, the smoke is always present, but not dominant, beautiful also, if I have often mentioned the astringency, this is not too strong that it would be annoying, the red fruit gives a good counterpart

    Definitly a great bowmore!! And a perfect addition to the Bowmore Wineyard Triology Limited Release.
    And around 100 € fairly priced for a 19 year-old limited release with just 4500 bottles.

    Krasser Bowmore with an unfamiliar, dirty smokiness. Personally, I do not notice much of the red wine. A certain fruitiness is there, but also a pleasant sweet tone. What mainly dominates is this filthy smoke from dirty embers. It takes a while to get through it. He tolerates water only conditionally: a few drops go, but he gets watery quickly.
    Now it's just so that this is a quite ambitious price of about 90-125 € is called. That is too expensive in my opinion. If you see that the normal Bowmore 18 years (one of my TOP darlings) is sometimes offered for 65 €, the choice is not difficult. The standard 18 years is simply much rounder and more balanced and thus simply better.

    This Bowmore is definitely one of the good side of power: lots of fine red wine notes, beautifully integrated, relaxed smoke, not that otherwise annoying fusel taste and somehow sparkling dry. All in all very pleasant and for a smoke lover like me his price well worth it. Bowmore can do it - sometimes.
    • Nose
      Immediately a raspberry-redcurrant jam hits my nose and not only the berry smell but also a sugary sweetness. The smoke, of course, comes closest to the smell of a jacket the morning after a campfire evening: a little cold, a bit stale, but still carrying the relaxation of the previous evening. A little time in the glass produces Bowmore-typical vanilla and hay, and towards the end comes noticeable oak.
    • Taste
      The jam loses its sweetness, instead, it is more fruity and tart, as if you had mixed in addition bitter orange marmalade. The oral cavity is surprisingly dry and filled with oak smoke, although it continues to tickle fruity on the tongue. Dittsche would probably say "that pisses" and how really exciting red wine.
    • Finish
      At the end there is sweet, nutty smoke, which is additionally enriched with grass and salt. About medium long and neat warming.
