40% says it all - wish I never bothered buying a bottle but at least it's one more open off the collectors shelf.

palate is nippy - no hints of sherry at all and eventually becomes drinkable with a blob of ice. Good bottle to kill when I have folk over to the house who won't appreciate the 'good stuff'

Weird candy sherry notes, lemon pie, cloves, blood oranges
    • Taste
      78 78
Strawberry, old wet wood, definitely cheap seasonned casks

I mean 40% abv is not something i like. Special in terms of finish. This one is a mess as well.

Certainly when we talk about The Macallan, it highlights feelings and expectations worthy of the name. However, this edition is notable only for the beautiful bottle and packaging. Don't wait too long. The candy bothers. Also, with 40% abv makes it even thinner. To conclude the price does not match the final result. Definitely go to Double Cask.

Beautiful packaging, but a Taiwan exclusive for night club... so lets not raise the expectation too high, but I hoped to be proven wrong.
    • Nose
N- Direct seasoned sherry and chocolate top note followed on by width-y fresh gummy candies, raspberries, cranberries, pineapple, apple, orange, and you just get this candies laden going on for few minutes. Though hint of waxed meat but faint. Vanilla cream. (84/18)
    • Taste
P- Oddly sweet, sort sugary rum-ish, has chapterization been allowed in whisky making? I am sure it didn't... OK scents of bourbon oak with oozes of sour plum, honey and assam boi, so ya, this little part is fine. But boringly sweet with no soul. Reminded me the previous batch of Singleton 12YO, but that one at least much lower on price. (76/16)
    • Finish
F- It doesn't matter how lasting is this anymore, as this is way too poor to assess. Boiled sweet spices and pickle ginger saving some grace. But can't ignored the unpleasant scents of artificial floral essence in a humid sphere, sort moldy. (78/16)

B/B- 77/16 I am sorry, this taste like a joke and really desperate. Might sell well for the packaging, but has to pair with the night club lighting to make it palatable. Macallan? Really?

Thanks HK Ling for the dram. A generic NAS Macallan, with just enough on the nose and palate to pass as an acceptable malt.
