Cave Aquila "A Knights Dram" Invergordon 44y 1972.
Liquid Gold Award 95/100
Nose: 24/25: The cut-glas, crystalline demerara sugars versus the oak-laden, bourbon-edged prickly spice is nothing short of glorious.
Taste: 24/25: Just about perfect weight on the delivery, the corn oil captures every last input of the maple leaf syrup and Manuka honey mix, the spices buzz, neither too soft or loud.
Finish: 23,5/25: Remains gently toasty with an even more noticeable nod towards a very classy Canadian/Bourbon blend.
Balance: 23,5/25: You almost want to give the spices a standing ovation.
