Whisky Reviews for Bell's 20-year-old

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.17 points

  1. dRambo scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

delicate, elegant, beautiful retro style, the finish I like best - you do not expect this intensity
    • Nose
      87 87
At the beginning a very reserved nose, would like time and some warmth of the hand, mild sweet lemon, lemonade, canned mandarine, old faded wood in the sun, some furniture polish, cut flowers, black tea, herbs
    • Taste
      88 88
complacent, nutmeg, dusty, mint, lemon, dates, figs, raisins, foliage, marzipan, furniture polish, old dry wood, wax
    • Finish
      89 89
long, fresh lemon, cinnamon, ginger, pepper, vanilla, dusty delicious wood

  2. DocF scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

    Color: Yellow Gold.

More "blend" is not really possible, it tasted like (old) malt from all corners of Scotland. Exactly my thing: cool: 90 points.
    • Nose
Cough syrup, mustard seed, white pepper, wet corrugated cardboard, quickly turns into more mustard, plus soot, fatty cream, water mint, wet undergrowth. Later cinnamon, charred orange peel. Dried apples, almonds, slightly salty. Incense sticks and old wood. Dill.
    • Taste
Tree sap, block malt, candle soot and herb candy. Thick, doughy, more orange peel, ripe mirabelle plums, hazelnut. Fruit schnapps.
    • Finish
Almost too short, resin, charred bark, block malt, some cough syrup with orange peel remains.

  3. Monte Gehro scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

    Notes from a blind tasting.

Standing time in the glass is good for that. Nothing looks young and metallic here, but rather pleasant, elegant and "smooth".
It is mild, has a maximum of 43%, could be a blend (or a standard) from past times.
    • Nose
Almost shy at first. Then fresh, some alcohol, sweet pear, some forest honey.
    • Taste
Mild, oily, sweet, there could be some grain, honey, mild fruit, oak behind.
    • Finish
(Unfortunately) quickly gone, at most medium length, pleasant, with sweet elements, oak shavings.
