This is a great bottling. My congratulations to everyone involved. The finish in particular is impressive. Who needs naming rights if you can get a cask of this quality instead?

Pleasantly mild peat profile. Flattened earth, rose bushes, herbs. Some light fruit notes. Some “horse”.
    • Taste
      90 90
A creamy profile with some ash and a slight sweetness. On point. Then comes some iodine and lemon. It gets salty. Then there is also peat and bitter substances and a few herbs.

Again a few herbs and pears come together to welcome peat and medium intensity smoke. Add a little ham, bandages and iodine. It's a very classic profile, that's how I met Laphroaig. A tiny bit of metal is also added.

Quite complex nose, peat, iodine, like bacon, a little soapy too, intriguing enough to want to quickly. On the other hand, the mouth is quite disappointing, a little sweet, on the same aromas as the nose, but it remains soft, without personality.

This is one of the best Laphroaigs I've tasted to date, alongside a few casks from 22/09/1998... Aptly named - it is a gentle giant. No shouts, no bells and whistles, but packed with flavour!
Somewhat like the lamented 18, and the old 15 - but at 50.9% has everything you can want from Laphroaig. To bad there were only 190 bottles...

    Magically integrated alcohol!
    Well done !

Simply one of the best Laphs out there (or gone...) - it's not the individual flavors. It's how it all comes together, so no notes, just a score!
