    Allt-a-Bhainne, 22y, 1995-2018, DL 12474, 51.9%
    Color: pale yellow
Nose: very nice, vanilla, honey, very fruity, gummy bear mix, milk chocolate
    Body: easy / medium
    Mouth: clearly alcohol, herbs, wood
Finish: medium, mild, herbs and dry wood
Conclusion: 82.5P., Great nose, but unfortunately the mouth does not deliver on the same level as herbs and wood notes dominate here.

  3. Official tasting note

NOSE: Opens with a fragrant honeyed sweetness and carries a macerated orange style

PALATE: Gentle, fresh, developing to sweet spices and an elderflower character

FINISH: Medium-long, still sweetly spiced, with more citrus fruit lingering (JLB)

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Nice, very light-fruity nose, a little bit of hairspray, which speaks for not so perfectly integrated alcohol. The light fruitiness and the oak notes are quite special and make the malt look younger than it is, but not at second glance either.
In the mouth, the tart oak notes, pepper, a little mint are clear first, the sweetness is there, but in the background, as are the fruity notes.
A hint of honey and malt sweetness, beautiful fruit and oak that is definitely present, which let the malt dry out at the end and add a certain cooling note of mint.
Nice whisky, classic, even if it is quite simple despite its age and it lacks a bit of the hoped-for complexity.

  5. Northern&Isles scored this whisky 98 points Expert Senior

Rarely bottled Allt-a-Bhainne by Douglas Laing from the Old Particular series.
Not the usual 51.5% by volume, but in real cask strength with 51.9%.
One of the best so far I've tried from this distillery.
    Clear recommendation.
Very balanced and well-balanced complex mix of rather light fruits, oak spices, spices and herbs.
In addition, clearly vanilla and toffee from the Bourbon Cask.
I really like the clear fullness and certain weight, which is unusual for this distillery.
    Not thin, not watery.
    Long, expressive finish.
