  1. dRambo scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

with patience a beautiful and special nose on the palate and departure simply disappointing - gives me far too little of what I expect from a Dronach in the price range and age - nose yummy, on the palate rather a parliament or allardice
    • Nose
      91 91
Raspberry froth, light hint of wild berry purée, very many nuts, orange oil, orange peel, warm firewood, dusty oak cabinet wall, with a lot of time a bit of boulder sulfur, plums, sour cherry juice

The nose really needs time and some warmth to develop properly
    • Taste
      86 86
Cherries, biscuits, almonds (partly bitter), orange oil and chilli, rather refill or 3rd fill character has an alcoholic spicy and a bit thin - no matter how small my sips are, after a few seconds the fuel beats the flavors on the tongue - here is missing I am clearly subtractive maturing - I suspect a dead barrel with a short active finish
    • Finish
      84 84
I think the finish is short - what I expect - sherry flavors and wood has disappeared completely - do some orange oil and chilli which lingers very long on the tongue

Ingenious whisky! I would never have thought it was so old and rather typed PX than aut Oloroso. I still liked it very much.
    • Nose
Immediately strawberries, then a few grasses, blackberries, dried fruits, wood, honey, some earth, some peach, some cinnamon, which is getting sweeter and more fruity,
    • Taste
Honey, strawberries, sweet muesli, blackberries, some cherry, peach, grapefruit, coffee, wood

  3. Joschbert scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

The nose is extremely fruity, but with 'light' aromas, which I know less from Glendronach. The darker flavors come through later and especially on the finish.
    • Nose
      88 88
Very fruity. Sweet and sour notes, a beguiling blend of berries, cherries and exotic fruits. A Glendronach-typical dusty oak with marzipan notes. A little vanilla.
    • Taste
      88 88
Vinous fruit notes. Sweet. Then spices develop, clearly cinnamon. Sandalwood. Becomes dry and tender bitter with orange peel and cocoa.
    • Finish
      89 89
Beautiful creamy oak with cinnamon and tobacco. Behind it plums.
