The quality is not bad, the flavor of the common sherry bucket plus mint clear sugar is quite fun.
    • Nose
Sour fruit puree, old oak, leather, caramel, roasted walnuts, mint, hard to find peat.
    • Taste
Chewing gum, old leather furniture, milky nuts, spicy, soft plastic, light fat.
    • Finish
      Long, milk, oil, plastic.

Cooked fruit, orange, it is fresh and alive. Leather, nuts, chocolate, almonds, it is as juicy nothing on the nose. In the mouth, beautiful attack despite its "only" 43%. Melted and spicy. Relents of old cellar. Imposing final and a little drying. Mandarin and exotic fruits (!!!) A very beautiful moment.

    Enthusiasm 5/5

LONGMORN 30yo GM distillery labels 43% 2012 Distribution goods · Fragrance: fragrant spicy odor, fresh grape, noble sherry, caramel, jam of ripe berry, leather, peat with sense of oldness, mint, comfortable woodyness, burnt wheat, rich. · Taste: Royal Sherry, grape and its skin, sweet and sour berry jam, mint, late leather and old pete, slightly arthy, strong but good woodiness, burnt wheat, rich in sweetness but elegant, tannin astringency Is a comfortable degree, a pleasant acidity, it is quite complex and euphoric. Medium body. · Reverb: In addition to Old Sherry, Tannin, Leather, Pete remains unexpectedly. A long and comfortable lingering continues for water addition. · Water addition: It does not collapse even with excessive water addition, euphoria is also kept. · Overall rating: Old Sherry and fresh grape feeling, tropical feel like Long Morn is modest, but it is a good Sherry's water bottle with almost no complaints. http://www.whiskylink.com/?p=21487

    TASTING NOTE by G&M;

    Colour: Dark amber.

    WITHOUT WATER:

Nose: Pronounced Sherry notes, with a hint of rich Christmas cake.

Palate: Sweet and smooth, retains a sherried edge. Some rum and raisin

    influences.

    WITH WATER:

Nose: Becomes fresher, remains sherried. Stewed fruit notes linger.

Palate: Creamy and rich, some fruitiness develops and a hint of sweetness.

    Body: Medium to full.

    Finish: Long & smooth.

Cask Type(s): First fill and refill Sherry casks.

Whisky Style: Sweet, sherried and floral.

    Superb sipping whisky
    • Nose
Raisins, Plums, Dates, Figs and Sherry tones
    • Taste
No surprises, all in the nose comes back
    • Finish
Medium long from dark fruits to a finish in slightly bitter oak

  12. KayMeertens scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Very heavy sherry: Raisin, orange, marzipan, chocolate and dark cherries. Coffee and hazelnuts come up in the finish. A pity that this wasn`t botteled at a higher ABV, as its body is a bit thinner than I`d expect from such an old sherried whisky.

    • Nose
      Caramel with wood
    • Taste
Rich full taste of fruits and wood
    • Finish
      Long smooth finish

There seem to be different batches that vary a lot. All but at a high level, sometimes more sherry / fruit emphasizes.

"Another very well-priced bottling of very old Longmorn from G&M, who

win our imaginary value-for-money trophy every time. All the old

Longmorns from G&M in the last few years have been excellent, and

this won a Silver Medal from the Malt Maniacs Awards in 2009."
