  1. dRambo scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Ingenious barrel - absolutely impossible to grasp with only one dram, so multifaceted, versatile, complex and delicious at the same time - I have not even played with water until now
    • Nose
      91 91
Exotic yellow fruit blend with sweet lemon, passion fruit, pineapple, carambola, hints of cucumber, beautifully toasted freshly cut oak, tree juice, creme brulee with shortbread crumbs and a lot of honey, hay, sawdust of green juicy wood, delicate waxy notes

After the first sip, it gets spicier - gets more depth, teens, showing its age from a complex living side
    • Taste
      91 91
sweet and sour, honey, pineapple, passion fruit, citrus notes of fruit and peel with essential oils and mint, as well as some pleasant Grapefriutschalenbitterkeit, lively pulsating spreads slightly astringent oak syrup on the tongue, a bit dry, peppery spicy without being alcoholic - very oily , full-bodied, rich
    • Finish
      90 90
Biscuit, fresh spiciness and creaminess of light, delicious oak, vanilla, with large swallows the mouth becomes very dry - but not unpleasant - holds very intense the aromas of fresh wood, herbaceous, aromatic with much wax dancing on the tongue, some pepper - a lot Aroma carousel - always on the move always exciting

Oily. Yellow apples, star fruit, mirabelle plums. White pepper, a hint of nutmeg. Almond biscuits, croissants. Peach.

  3. JungleDram scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

Excellent Bourbon barrel ripening. Everything is just right here. Although he is not the most complex, he is fun.
    • Nose
      91 91
Very fruity, then shortbread, again light fruits, flat peach, hardly noticeable, nicely embedded alcohol
    • Taste
      91 91
very sweet, delicate oak notes, soft and round, goes in the direction of brandy / cognac, bright fruits, very delicate
    • Finish
      90 90
Long, delicately spicy, mild, also hardly any bitter substances

Abv. 54.8%, 24 years (1993-2018), Ex Bourbon Cask
Nose: Lemon peel, mango, physalis, papaya, behind it a slight floral influence, with a bit of water influences of menthol and peppermint, but the yellow fruits that have inspired me before now back in the background
Taste: more yellow fruit, with yoghurt and icing sugar, a very present bitterness but never too present or even unpleasant, with water the bitterness becomes too present
Departure: long finish in which the yellow fruits show up again and again and slowly fade away, with water the finish is incredibly tasty
Conclusion: I can not really give a real conclusion. The malt is a bit too complex and locked up to open up in a dram. I like it very much and you have a really interesting fruity malt. For me it could be a bit less bitterness.
