This Deanston looks unfinished and immature, like a yeast bread taken out of the oven too soon.
Sensory no revelation, if not disappointment, the departure I liked the most ...

    • Nose
Due to the fruity-looking color and the sweet wine storage the nose expects a profusion of berry fruits - but far from it. First comes freshly cut cereal, light malt and lightly fermented fruit. Metallic notes testify to a rather immature youth. And then there are also fruity aspects, primarily pink table grapes and freshly cut quinces with their tart and sweet aromas. The oak barrel comes with notes of fresh peeled branches and shavings. Everything is very strong and the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated.
    • Taste
Peppery pungency and sweet fermented grape molasses storm the palate first. The sweetness is always sugary and sour cherries and gooseberries bring more fruity notes. As if I had just chewed floury oatmeal, a furry feeling with fresh cereal notes on the tongue, which make everything seem like a creamy young grain whisky. And much more is no longer there, neither the Marsala Hogshead nor the unknown barrel of the first storage could contribute really many oak flavors here. Rather, I have the feeling of chewing on immature barley stalks, rather sweet and grassy notes.
    • Finish
Short to medium long, with malty yeasty notes, plum jam and liquorice, in the last chewing a few sweet berries and a touch of honey.

In the nose, initially fruity and sweet. The taste is then slightly sour. Maybe a hint of smoke (?). Exciting unusual filling.

    • Nose
      78 78
Harsh red fruit. A very sour bite and acidic tones. Red berries and lemon. Beneath this there is a young spirit.
    • Taste
      79 79
Againthe red forest fruit. Also quite a few candies with that chemical not so fruity taste. But underneath this, there are sugary oatmeal cookies.
    • Finish
      80 80
The heavy sour fruit fades away and leaves a somewhat normal malt.
