  1. LordBellamy scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Nose: unbelievably fresh oak, followed by some bright fruits (apple, apricot, mirabelle), pineapple, some vanilla and butterscotch, the alcohol is quite sticky in the nose, with hand warmth and time the alcohol evaporates, and there are floral notes after roses and lavender, it is creamier, rounder and sweeter

Taste: sweet start with honey, lavender, herbs, vanilla and some fruits. Then the strong alcohol bites

Finish: medium in length, good balance between fruit, floral notes and oak, but the back is very strong

with water: he can handle a good shot of water, not just a few drops. But not too much, then the youthful age clearly comes to light

Interesting, but a bit too young, the alcohol is not perfectly integrated. And somehow sherry fits better to the Glengoyne profile ...

    SMWS notes:

Aromas opened with a strong scent of dry new oak like shavings on a carpenter's workbench. Powerful puffs of fine ladies perfume wafted across the table and from there the nose grew and grew, expanding into lavender, violets and the soft fruits of lychee and apricots. Water enticed a layer of rose from the glass but undeniably it presented fruitier incarnations. Hedgerow berries and raspberry jam brought a sticky sweetness whilst plums turned our path towards sloe gin and then creamy vanilla. The palate warmed the tongue with fresh ginger but quickly became sweet as butterscotch, toffee and fudge created buttery textures. A lovely dimension of pineapple chunks and wild strawberries followed, all wrapped in a hessian sack on the finish.
