The nose was complex and varied ; the sweet end the spectrum had bubble-gum, fruit sweet and Swizzellollies while the fragrant end had potpourri, violets , tobacco and traces of vinegar . The palate was sweet but with interesting additions - Cox's apples, aniseed, pipe tobacco and tar. Lollies and lemon pith levitated the reduced nose but something musty held it down (tobacco, leather, old straw bales, Cha-Cha-girl's dad's socks ! ) The reduced palate was definitely not boring - artificial sweetness tummbling around with rawhide leather ; pleassnt to drink and getting nicer with time. The distillery was built in 1974 and demolished in 2002.
