Unfortunately, it's too bitter and peppery for me to really enjoy it.

    • Taste

astringent and tingling with spicy oak and vanilla, wood dust, nutty and oily-buttery, apple, some grassy dark chocolate, pepper and clove, hints of banana and grapefruit
    • Finish

What's not to like here? A full force in many respects. The cask strength suits it well without being overwhelming. I also really like the flavor composition. Splendid small batch! Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2021/03/09/unabhaengige-speysider/

Lemon zest and mezcal. Ham with a salt crust. Herbs in between. There is still something earthy and grain in the background. With the alcohol vapors, it's like delicious vodka, if that exists. Fantastic.
    • Taste

Briefly pinches the tongue. Ginger, almost spicy limoncello. This turns into wonderful citrus notes and is combined with bread. Fresh and soft bread.
    • Finish
      89 89
Hazelnuts and hazelnut schnapps. Some malt and some green fruits. The official notes say Kiwi and Lychee. That could fit. Bread and lemons are still there. Sweet and salty receptors are touched. Bitter notes only provide some background.
