Whisky Reviews for Aberfeldy 12-year-old
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 79.08 points
Floral and pleasing. Gingerbread. Tickling in the nose. Malt syrup. Clementines. A few nuts.
Slightly thin, not so full-bodied, a certain sharpness. Light sweetness mixes with bitter aromas. Nothing special, but good PLV, a good malt Malt for beginners.
Starts sweetly with sticky fruit syrups, tangerines, caramelized nuts, malt, chocolate and a fine softwood note. Overall, but a bit shallow.
Emphasizes malty. In addition, beautiful softwood note, nuts, sherry and linseed oil. As appealing in the smell but shallow. Too bad.
Medium long, nutty and slightly oiled coniferous wood.
- Tasted this one together with the Dewar's 12 at the same night, and the Aberfeldy influence in this Dewar's blend is obvious: Both have this bitterness, grapefruit-like taste. I don't really like this, this is definately not my favorite profile.
It doesn't make the whisky bad, but just not my type.
Fruity, apples, also some peach, and some honey-like sweetness. Pretty light 'nose', some hint of vanilla.
Fruity, only a very little pepper, light and soft. Now here comes the bitterness, grapefruit. Also some sweet like caramel, in time the body gets a little stronger, but the bitterness remains.
Soft and smooth, licorice, with still this bitterness underneath. Later on, more pepper comes in, middle long finish.
