I immediately jump to a juicy, sweet fruit note. Together with a hint of thick molasses of brown sugar and caramel. Now join in fresh herbs. Gradually I also notice the barrel (in the form of a small woody and leathery note) I mean to smell some more malt. Now I have the feeling that the fruits are a little more acidic (more so in the direction of red wine); very interesting; Maybe there is still a hint of nut, but the herbs are clearly ahead of it

Sherry; sweet; spicy cask (cinnamon); then becomes a little woodier; is now slightly dry, but still very fruity and spicy; the herbs from the nose are now fully available; Now I also feel Nut, which becomes more and more clear with time; a tobacco note I can also perceive, but the nut is much stronger; Slowly a soft and bitter chocolate appears, which is still accompanied by fresh herbs. In between, I briefly had something salty, but quickly disappeared. He really has many faces. I'm really excited

Spicy; then sweet; The sherry is getting a bit drier now; nut again; Do I have a minimal trace of smoke? Could be real, but I have not noticed before in the nose or on the palate. Very interesting; after the second sip, the soft and bitter chocolate will hang and leave behind a hint of coffee

A great malt. But I found it much sweeter than the one I could taste at the time. And he needs time to develop. Still very tasty and simply delicious.

      Oh yeah ...
A soft plume of smoke greets me first. Followed by sweetish herbs and fresh leather. A beautiful cherry, grapes and apple mix follows. I still find sweet marzipan, some milk chocolate and a cooling menthol note. The aromas, however, tend to stay cloudy and back.
With some time in the glass, the colleague opens up more. Sugared berries and elderberry. This bottling is much sweeter than the last one I had tasted in 2017.
Now the herbs get through better. A pinch of pepper, lovage and a dose of gunpowder residue. Ahhhh, now comes the hoped-for "filthiness".
It is getting earthier now. Wet soil. Wet tobacco and sour blackberries are still following.
He really needs a lot of time in the glass.
    • Taste
Spicy, thick start. Sweet herbal liqueur. Followed by sour cherries, plums and again the tobacco. This fine smoky note I find in the taste again.
The second sip is more spicy. Leather, chamomile, a pinch of salt and espresso. A nice nut aroma spreads in the mouth. With it also this moist, earthy taste. An exotic fruit note is still ..... but I'm not on it, which ?!
    • Finish
Medium to long. Only spicy. Then the sweetness strikes. Before it ends slightly bitter, but creamy.

Blind tasting Advent calendar Brühler Whiskey house no. 3

Amber-mahogany. Many thin, slow legs on the glass.

In the nose: sherry - dried fruit (plums, dates, raisins) and nut. Then broth.

Very astringent on the palate. A lot of dry fruit initially, but quickly fading.

Departure also dry and astringent. After a while in the glass, the malt clearly shows a touch of furniture polish and is now very spicy on the palate with an emphasis on the oak.

Beautiful malt, would have attested to him a higher age. Personally too dry for me and not cute enough.
