    • Nose
Waxy, with a juicy and fresh fruity heart. Is caressing. Fruit from the orchard. Malt rises with complex vegetable notes.
    • Taste
Fruity with citrus accents. Various spices. Some notes of honey.
    • Finish
The fruity takes an exotic turn, but this final also gives dry herbs.

      Enthusiasm 4/5

      Whisky n ° 1880

    elixir, for a closed distillery
    • Nose
spices, dried herbs, varied, malt well present
a subtle floral side to the nostrils
    • Taste
herbs in shambles, a little wet, others dry, with dust, rather diffuse fruits, on the apple and pear, but cooked, vanilla also put in the pan,
a slightly caramelized side, and sweet spices, return of the hay freshly cut in the morning with its dew
    • Finish
subtle, demands that one asks oneself, the aeration must do him even more good in rested moment.

Sadly demolished in 2013 to make way for the Dalmunach distillery, Imperial didn’t actually make any whisky after 1998. However, there are still some cracking Imperial vintages from the early-mid 1990’s coming from the independents.

    N: One with a sweet-ish spot.
T: With a decent sweet, lemon-y, jammy journey, age & youth are candidly revealed.
    F: A malty, sour-sweet finish.
C: A good one for sure. This proved very popular, as did the 22yo that followed.

    Scores a B
