- Ralfy review 193: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6sGxbO8ywk (87/100).
- very tasty whisky, needs water,
with water: fruity, caramel, vanilla, pear, honey, something floral, slightly spicy
strong onset, sweet, caramel, honey, pear, apricot, beautiful oak spices, mouth-filling, and then a taste like pickled Inger, with some white pepper.
long, sweet oak with pear and honey, ends slightly bitter, again ginger with white pepper.
- A good barrel mole, cheerful and refreshing, powerful; a good, rich and quite diverse aroma, the taste / finish is rather taken by density and pressure, but also does not spoil the overall picture.
Open, wet, freshly planed board, a little bit of solvent, nuts, grains, fresh grass, pipe tobacco, a little lemon peel, sweet and sour notes, peel of green apples, weak oily hues, elusive echoes of varnish and resin.
Dense, fresh, woody-nutty notes, pepper-lemon wave, sour candies, ginger, young bark's bitterness, grapefruit crust, vanilla, light creamy confectionery shades.
Tender, refreshing, spicy oak, nuts, lemon peel, a little ginger, light acid-metallic taste, oily notes.
- Almost in perfect balance.
Fresh and floral. A bit spicy and some mint. Tropical fruit like pineapple. A little resin. Chocolate, vanilla and almond. A hint of leather.
Deliciously spicy and peppery. Also the sweetness of vanilla.
At the beginning spicy. After that sweet and ending spicy with a pleasant bitterness.
- To me this, together with the 18 year old, is a Glenlivet expression worth buying. It's different from the younger ones from this distillery, and very enjoyably so. Get one for your collection too.
Barley and floral sweetness. Some sharp spices like pepper or cardamom. Also some oak.
Again quite peppery, but soon the floral sweetness comes through. Barley and vanilla wrapped in tree sap with a very light smokiness at the end.
Medium. Sweetness and a hint of bitterness finish this off very nicely, especially since the puff of smoke at the end shows itself.
- Very tasteful whisky.
Very sweet. Also fruity (strawberries ?), orange/mandarine and honey. Very fresh with a hint of grass. Very complex nose.
The taste is sweet. Honey, vanilla and a hint of liquorice. Also peppermint. Just like the nose: very complex.
longlasting, sweet with a very little bitterness. And again: complex.
Vanilla, oak, Camp coffee
Sweet, vaniila and lemons (like lemon meringue), ginger like the 48% but less so
Pretty long and quite hot spicy (like the ginger)
