Tart and sweet notes of candied fruits combine and are accompanied by Tobermory / Ledaig's typically delicate smoke (light and noble leather, sweet tobacco). Spicy-floral aromas reminiscent of vermouth are also added. Reminds me of dried fruits and spices, which act as decoration for an Advent wreath. Very interesting. In addition, clearly vanilla.
With water only very slightly different. Maybe a bit sour and sulphurous as well as less smoky.
Pleasant oak and notes of sugary sweetness are complemented by a welcome pungency (white pepper).
Less oily and full-bodied than hoped, but beautiful barrel influence with strong oak and spicy sweetness.
