Excellent balance and lots of character, this is a must try for any Bunnahabhain fan or those who love big, rich sherried single casks. We are extremely lucky to get hold of this whisky and from those who have sampled it so far, have been very pleased with our choice. Tasting without water.

Big powerful nose of rich sherry, polished leather, dark and dried fruits, gorgeous balance of muscovado sugar, freshly made caramel and ground walnuts. Fresh raisins, hints of cinnamon, mixed spices, dusty wood shavings and old oak. There’s a lovely dark maduro cigar wrapper hiding and becomes more obvious after being left to breathe for 15 minutes. A nose that can only be described as sublime.

Mouth-watering, fresh wood spices, dark chocolate, sherried oak, nutmeg, clove and a hint of coastal saltiness. Like the nose, the palate is very well balanced with the richness of the sherry taking command.

Medium to Long and warming. Wood spices are still building with a dense orange oiliness appearing. The muscovado sugar appears again moving to dark fruits, finishing with a salted caramel tang. There is a subtle drying note at the very end which tails off to a slight bitter dark chocolate.
