Whisky Reviews for Springbank 10-year-old

10 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.16 points

  1. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

The 10s is the essence of the distillery. Fruity, spicy, salt, orange peel, some peat, slightly maritime. Easy Drinking, yet to discover, not boring, not bulky, unique. The older and Sherryfassgereiften Springbank are indeed good, but show by far not this great Brennereicharakter.

At first glance, a little ascetic than you would like. Good balance and great drink. For 10 years it is very important.

I had the sample from Springbank distilery from 8 months ago so dont know the batch number.
Overall this is stunner of a dram, in no case I had alcohol coming into way of smell and flavor, much more polished then I expected 10 yo springer to be. Well done
    • Nose
      89 89
Very bright and clean, touches of ripe white and garden fruits, wet concrete, hint of cinnamon sticks, grain, dunnage warehouse, hints of lime and lemon traditional confectionery sweets, whiff of plasticine and putty. It have a aura of quality all over it.
After 10 minutes the Springbank peat ( It smell like Campbelltown Harbour to me) starts to come into play making it even more fun, great, great
    • Taste

Soft arrival, gently syrupy mouthfeel on sugared preserved lemon peels from Italy, touches of fresh mint, almost like having melted top quality lemon candy in mouths, fulfilling mouth feel, very bright and focused this is great, It have earthy quality to it, which contributes to its fullness and boldness, yet everything is under control, this is seriously impressive

Long, Limoncelo and spices, wonderful echoing finish

Incredible that a 10 year old has this richness, this variety of aromas and flavors, these contrasts, but if it is a Springbank then everything is explained.
    • Nose
Very fragrant. Notes of orange peel and raisins. The peat is light but present, it does not dominate the scene but pleasantly accompanies it, not so much smoky as with a burnt touch (very light and really pleasant). It is a riot of aromas: marine notes, brown sugar, cherries in alcohol, almond paste. Alcohol is slightly invasive and takes several minutes to disappear and leave the scene to a beautiful Pandoro.
    • Taste
In the mouth it is spicy, salty but also sweet, the peat is now more decisive than the nose, the sweetness recalls honey, while the salty and peat inspire me a nice smoked fish
    • Finish
The finish is medium-long, moderately sweet and just a little smoky

Smoke, sweetish, light fruits, citrus fruits, slightly earthy
    • Taste
spicy fruity start, citrus fruits, pepper, in the background slightly sweet and some smoke
    • Finish
sweetish with smoke notes, citrus fruits, drying and slightly bitter.

SLightly peaty, very fresh, even slightly fruity, lemon zest, green. WIth water much cleaner, more mellow
    • Taste

Smoky peat, slightly vegetal, clean, nut musty or dirty. It is a spirit driven experience. But very easy drinking
