Seamlessly connects to the OA Series 10, 12 CS and 15.
From the 10's he has a little bit of fruitiness, from the 12 CS a bit of "dirt" and pebble taste and the depth that the 15's already has, you can find here a bit more clearly.
The 46% are perfect, would not be more.
    • Nose
      91 91
Spicy, fruity and mineral nose at the same time. Mashed bananas, dusted with cinnamon, orange slices peppered with cloves, lemon juice. Pebbles moistened with seawater that slowly dry in the sun. Malt, toffee, a hint of vanilla, milk chocolate, heather herbs. Juicy, refreshing, inviting.
    • Taste
      89 89
Full and dry start with dark chocolate, malt, and mild herbs. The bananas and oranges as well as the lemon on the tongue, but spicy than in the nose. Lost pebbles from the sea. Delicate smoke, not to be confused with the spicy oak from the bourbon casks. Initially similar to "sparkling" and refreshing as the nose, then quickly come "mature" notes (oak, loamy soil) and give depth.
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium long and slightly dry. Now it is becoming increasingly difficult to separate the smoke from the oak, could be both. Still with nice fruit content. Sea salt, licorice and chain fat form the conclusion.

    • Nose
Delicate, caramel with salt and mineral water .... orange and mint gum stuck to jeans ... weak peat. Pretty simple, but cute (22)

  3. Dre73 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Pretty remarkable, nice balance, special sour touch in the taste.
    • Nose
Fruity, with herbal and mineral influences. Citrus, oranges, some smoke, pepper, cinnamon. Also some banana now, roasted meat, honey, and the smell of vinyl kitchen floor.
    • Taste
A little pepper and tickering, sweet, honey, chocolate with a very surprising sour touch. Lemon and pepper.
    • Finish
Tickering, sweet and sour, pretty long, hint of smoke, Later on some drop, sweet drop.

I find the delivery really extreme and actually just challenging. This is so very different from most whiskies you come across; it is a bit like those earthy milky Tobermories that just go off the chart. It is applaudable but I'm not sure I could own a bottle. Perhaps technically good, but I just cannot connect with it.
    • Nose
peat but with a queer musty aspect, not super dirty but the sick intoxication of a petrol station forecourt. Mouldering oranges, more spicy than citrus now.
    • Taste
I don't mind the lower ABV, but then something very peculiar (char?) comes in
    • Finish
touch of char and bile and rubber in there; left feeling car sick
