Whisky Reviews for Kilchoman 2006

Leather! Leather aromas with salty spice and again many yellow-green fruit flavors. Apple, lime, grapefruit, vanilla, tons of honey and over and over again these more than matching dull aromas of charcoal, wet ash and leather. In addition, very nicely complementing, dark wood and moist soil, aromas of oranges and of course peat.
Creamy, soft, full-bodied and round. Here comes joy. The previously suggested orange fruit unfolds now completely. Fruity sweet, salty, peppery and full phenol content. With chocolate, nutmeg, wood, mocha, coffee and leather - great!
Very long - tart and dry. Ash, coal, peat, vanilla, cream, chocolate and an absolutely soft and ingenious spice. With subtle wood, leather, orange and this seductive creaminess, this malt dies away very slowly!

N: Even more body than the Feis Ile 11yo with citrus & fruity PX notes.
T: A fruitier palate and longer travel,…
F: ,.. with even more defined cask balance.
C: Thumbs up. At time of writing around 10% of this cask’s outturn is unopened in Whiskybase members’ collections!
A lot of smoke, some vanilla and maritime notes. Something nutty in there as well. A fruity compont with fresh green apples as well.
Smoke bomb but also a lot of sweetness. Some nutmeg, vanilla and green apples again. A bit sour on the tip of the tongue as well.
Burned wood, ash and medicinal peat. The sweetness fades away quite quick and leaves a mouth full of ash and old wood ... I love it !
