Immediately this ‘05 vintage gives way more outspoken character then the new range of age statements! I get pears, vanilla, an earthy note and mild spices. It got a rather light maturation which I like. Very delicate and characterful.
Fresh and friendly. Very decent body. Sweet and sour. Burst of citrus fruits, vanilla and other mild spices. Apple, orange, licorice, cinnamon. Not a lot of depth though.
Short-medium. There is actually a very pleasant hint of smoke in the finish as well as a more barley like note. It reminds me of freshly baked bread. That is quite a surprise. Also some white peppers.
It is a pitty that it is a tad dry/bitter at the end and the finish is rather short. But I have to say, this is more exciting then the new age statement bottlings.
