  1. LeChiffre scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Very powerful malt that tolerates water. Overall, an interesting game of sweetness and spiciness (oak noticeable) with beautiful flavor cargo. For my taste possibly minimal too dry mouthfeel. Overall, a great malt at a pretty high price.

Tropical fruits and citrus! Grapefruit, orange candy, mango, red apple, white grape, blackberry, blueberry, birch sap, gum, woody, spicy, ginger, black tea, milk chocolate, leather.

  4. Calmar scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

The wine finish is clearly noticeable with its inherent sweetness and berry motifs, but the main aging, obviously in bourbon, turned out to be very aggressive and sharp and harmonious, a smooth combination did not happen, it's more like a struggle between different beginnings, and if in the aroma they more or less combine and complement each other , then in the taste of marsala it is simply rejected, and fades into the background at the finish.
    • Nose
Open, damp, woody and mineral tones against the background of sweet wine and berry motifs, freshly sawn boards, wood dust, drying plaster, gypsum, stone chips, slightly burnt sparklers, berry jam, raisins, dried grapes.
    • Taste
Slightly harsh, watery, sweet wine notes, pungent mineral-industrial undertones, tart oak, leather goods, ginger, redcurrant,
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, woody notes framed by light wine shades, tobacco, leather goods, ginger, pink pepper.

Classic sherry nose. Very sweet and oversaturated. For myself, I did not find anything interesting that I would like to write about

  6. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Very pleasant in the nose, but in the mouth too much oak. There's nothing wrong with that ...
    • Nose
      88 88
Fruity and fresh, clear mint, with creamy, some chocolate, yellow fruit, almonds, overall rather dry and sour, as sweet, fruits go something in the tropical direction, mango and passion fruit, after the first sip of intense, sweet, fruity, peach , Vanilla
    • Taste
      80 80
also in the mouth a dry feeling, but short in sweet taste at the beginning, then wood, oak, becomes much drier, salt, yellow fruit, already massive wood, vanilla, also the second sip is quite woody, a little nut, not so super pleasant, with water rather worse
    • Finish
      82 82
Almost bitter, oak, vanilla, slightly creamy, behind the back then comes through again the fruit, peach

When tasting, about 2 months later I found him on the palate a lot better than the first time! My taste description remains the same, but overall he comes off me in terms of intensity and fun better ...

Maybe it's just because it was my first malt today and then the 4th or 5th at a tasting. So you see how all these factors can play a role. So do not give too much on points - whether Serge, Youtuber XY or me - all very circumstantial ...
    • Nose
      88 88
I like the nose quite well. A bit sour-sweet, malty, something like ginger in the background and some glue.
    • Taste
      86 86
At the beginning much sweeter on the palate as in the nose. Directly followed by quite dominant oak spiciness, light tropical fruits (papaya) and caramel (quite a bit).
    • Finish
      85 85
      Pretty bitter finish.

    • Nose
      84 84
Trivial flavor - malt and sweetness
    • Taste
      85 85
The body is oily. The mineral component is strong, pronounced sweetness, unlike aroma, is absent, the influence of wine is almost not felt. No revelations and surges.
    • Finish
      82 82
      Shorter than average

  9. DenisLeonov scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    Balance (22)
The sulfurous aroma is compensated by an explosive taste and a pleasant finish (87)

    • Nose
First heavy, sulfur and sweetness ... then orange candies ... again sulfur ... after standing up honey and cream appeared (21)
      Go
    • Taste
Fruit, sweet, oily, chocolate candle with salt (22)
      Go
    • Finish
Spicy, chocolate, and exotic fruit with cream ... salt, leather, wood (22)
      Go
