Whisky Reviews for Tomatin 1976 PC

- Excellent sherried Tomatin in the lineup of a vintage tasting. And again a whisky with only 46% which does not need to be bottled at cask strength. I love these old school whiskies. Flavors, alcohol and wood are well balanced. Great long finish.
- Intensely sherried whisky that is superb from nose to taste to finish. Cigarboxes, fruits, old wood, leathery, this whisky pretty much has it all. Quality rarely found nowadays.
- Part of a vintage tasting.
Spot on this is! Nose, taste & finish are close to being perfect. This one keeps evolving in the glass minute after minute. Incredibly complex. Great play between wood and spirit. It’s smooth, soft, sweet and savory. Impressive stuff! A perfect example of a heavily sherried whisky which is not dominated by the cask but gives a great whole between red fruits, mild spices and sophisticated old notes. If I could turn back time...
- N: Bingo! Fruity waxy fat. A lot of wax, honey, ripe fruit (mango, chirimoya). All that I love. At aeration, the wax and paraffin stand out more.
B: Without much surprise, it's in continuity and so much the better. A little more fruit and especially the appearance of some spices, pepper and ginger, which give pep.
F: Long, minty. Fresh and fruity.
C: Lovely. A well deserved 92. A mix of Lochside or Clynelish Early 80's and Tomatin 76. 92
