    Colour:
    straw yellow
    Nose:
Salty, maritime, peaty! Lime meets orange. With grain, hay, vanilla, caramel, honey, iodine and more recent wood and a touch of metal - in combination with fruit and peat a great result!
    Taste:
Soft, creamy, spicy and peppery fat! The right dose of everything that explodes on the palate. Quite fruity and provided with lots of maritime peat and iodine. Add vanilla, cream, fresh mint and tingling salt to the finish. Absolutely straightforward and great!
    Finish:
Very long - the spice remains firm and the minerality is enormous. The, in the Torfsud there then spinning, fruity notes characterize the finish. Delicious herbs, emerging cocoa and getting softer and rounder - awesome!

Many thanks to Gunnar Nilsson, who is also barrel share owner (105 bottles went to the Islay Cask Company and 108 bottles were shared by three guys from Sweden)!

The nose is really expressive, nice fruity, creamy peat, with some sea salt, rock pools, green apple skins and a little sherbet.

Tasted with a few drops of water, it is indeed creamy but with a nice fruit gum edge on pineapple and grapefruit, maybe a little pear in the mix.

Some white pepper dances across your tongue and there is something similar to smoked fish but not that prominent, (maybe need to re think that)

A nice sweet angle and then a sour apple, and gooseberry notes comes in but it adds a nice counterbalance to the sweet peat.

A good finish, with the peat, fruit and sea salt/pepper mixing together nicely.

This has really surprised me, not a peat monster but a restrained peat that compliments all the other flavours.

    A winner for sure

    • Nose
Big peat (rubber tires, incense, acre) that dominates a certain malty roundness. The honey appears and asserts itself but without ever playing equal with the peat, which leaves a final impression of imbalance.
The addition of water does not help, all becoming too smooth and too wise.
    • Taste
Both salty and a little sweet, we have a nice spice dump. Imposing, then softer and round, it remains dominated by this dirty peat, but there are more directions to explore than the nose.
With the nose, it turns into delicate peat juice, very original, smoke seems to have better integrated.
    • Finish
Bright finish on salt and malt.
Wiser with sweet spices with water.

      Enthusiasm
      Nose 2/5
      Mouth 3/5
      Final 4/5 (3/5 with water)

      Whisky n ° 1925

The nose puts me straight into a Scottish distillery. In addition, one wonders whether maybe here was a bright sweet wine barrel at work.

A great Kilchoman that even surpassed my curious expectation.
    • Nose
      94 94
Typical Kilchoman smoke with a lot of sweetness and bacon, followed directly by a light fruitiness of mandarins and grapes, here you could rather think of a wine barrel, then comes gradually to a sour to yeasty and mineral note through, the whole thing is permanent framed by a vanilla note
    • Taste
      91 91
Sweet, directly very creamy, then comes the smoke and the heat of the alcohol, the grape sweetness and some oranges come through, at the back it gets very hot and spicy, without getting dry
    • Finish
      91 91
Warming and sweet smoke, the finish is eternally long and is an interplay of all sensations of the nose and palate
