But how to rate this? If you would taste this blind without knowing what you're drinking, you might say it's a pleasant whisky, but maybe not too special.
But considering this is a whisky of about EIGHTY years old (since bottled) makes the story completely different.
This liquid is still so unbelievably drinkable: Sweet 'drops' ("zoete dropjes") in the nose and taste, a hint of licorice maybe, some fruity notes, some vanilla sweetness.
And it even has some power left in it, some slight peppers, a light and pleasant tingling mouthfeel. Not weak at all. Again, unbelievable for such an old whisky.
Experience of a lifetime, I doubt whether I will taste such old stuff ever again in my whiskylife.
