Nose: Smells "grainy", reminds me of the Cameronbridge 25yo. Noble, broad, voluminous. Coffee, caramels, after a while a few herbs. Fuse, the gunpowder tickles your nose. Cake base. Slightly bitter orange peel. Sauerkraut juice? Old wet wood, wet sand, old beach mat. Great nose! - Water is a game changer, elicits more fruit (mirabelle plums, cherries?)
Palate: Very drinkable for the 54.4%. That's fun! Quite powerful on the palate, with a peppery spiciness, possibly even chilli heat, which mixes wonderfully with creamy full-bodiedness. Very good! - The water is not so good for the palate, it probably only needs a few drops, there were already a few too many. A few aromas of spice come to light, oak. Good, but the nose is even better.
Long finish that leaves a pleasant chilli heat in the mouth and throat, which mixes with the coffee and caramel notes.
86 points (?) The nose deserves even more.
