  2. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Delicious, but only recommended to friends of adding water.
And 23-year had no chance to come to fruition; in order to tease them out under the influence of the barrel, one would have to dilute the whisky to death.
    • Nose
dry, sawdust, spicy (so not so great at first), with water: very pleasant, creamy-sweet, fruity, lots of orange
    • Taste
pure very woody / resinous, diluted very creamy, toffee, milk chocolate, honey, orange, dried fruit
    • Finish
      tart, dry, woody, bittersweet

  3. LeChiffre scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

A delicious and tasty Glendronach SC from the PX barrel with intense sticky sweetness, which I would have expected at age 23 but a little more complexity / tension in terms of flavors. He does not need water, which only makes the malt thin. Tasty and tasty, the demanded almost 200 euros are unfortunately too much for this malt.

Sherry; sweet; Caramel; Orange; Plum; removed leather note; well integrated oak wort; tasty if not too complex in the nose
    • Taste
      88 88
directly very sticky-sweet (PX barrel beats through) and fruity; dates; Cowardly; Blood orange; chocolate notes; some oak spice in the background
    • Finish
      86 86
sticky-sweet; Orange; sparkling oak spiciness is evident; not bitter

The taste profile is very similar to bottling from sister barrel # 125, but is less complex and dominated by spicy aromas.
    Overall I liked Cask # 125 better.

In the beginning strong, sweet caramel. A little orange peel, a little pepper and a little honey. Add spice from the wood. Overall, very sweet, smells very tasty. Not extremely complex, but very promising in the nose. A little water opens the Glendronach, is recommended for the nose because less spicy or alcoholic.

Strong without water, sweet and then hot and dry. Adding water makes the dram very mild, softer but also thin. There are hardly any flavors.
    • Finish
      78 78
Pretty short finish. Sweet and not at all bitter, but not very concise.
