It can take quite some water, allowing different levels of taste and flavor.
It's definitely not boring, offering a nice "edge" in the taste and a long finish.
At 46% ABV, natural colour, non-chill filtered, and as a single cask, I find this a very decent bottling; even more so since the whole series is bottled that way, allowing cross-comparisons of this and other whiskys.
Well done, me thinks!
Dried fruits, vanilla, whipped cream, spices, apples, after adding water: dark chocolate
Sweet apricots, sultanins, vanilla, coriander, other spices reminding me of cinnamon and cardamom, whipped cream, some peppery notes, coffee notes in the background; creamy but with quite some "edge"
the sweetness fades, while spices, coffee, and cream remain very long, some fine bitterness appearing in the throat similar to as it would after having eaten both dark chocolate and raisins.
