It's so beautiful. This stopped being sold in 2004, it was bottled with no chill filtration or colouring back before I even learned how to move my tail or become an egg, and there don't see anymore coming about for at least... what's that? 2 years? This made me tear up off the FIRST DRAM, I expect it will get better as it sits in the bottle.
    • Nose

Toffee and fudge off the bat with a little coffee, less Tim Horton's and more premium espresso. Some orange coming through from the barley, mingled with a sweet cigar. (Amazed by the balance on both of these)
    • Taste
      91 91
Really smooth and slightly viscous, like drinking oiled velvet. Touch of chocolate over a campfire; floral elements express as violets with a little more of that orange
    • Finish

Long. Still tasting it now, 1 week later. Chocolate orange and a bbq by the sea

This is ok but for me it is a little flat, lacks a bit of energy, the flavours are all their the brine and peat mixed with lemon and salt but there is something missing to make it a really good Ardbeg.

Oh boy am I sure lucky I have one of these still to open! This is a soft, and light as a feather whisky that needs absolutely NO water. Perfect, and refreshing for the summer time!

This one improved with time to a whole other level from the beginning.
    • Nose
At the beginning it is dryish and almost ascetic, pungent, chimney smoke, fireplace, savoury, opens up with peppermint and anise. Luscious roundness and sweetness at the end.
    • Taste
Rather sweet, full, mushell and a bit oystery savouriness and power, liquorice, cough syrup medicinal, herbal (herb liquer) salmiak.
    • Finish
      Quite pleasant, sweet mild smoke.
