The nose is good, but the continuation let us down.
    • Nose
Pure fresh fruit, also a lot of furniture polish, later vanilla and cream notes
    • Taste
Sour, dry and woody, a little vanilla
    • Finish
continuation of taste, only all this against a background of black pepper and accented lemon sourness

This whisky goes all places. Nose, taste and finish are rather different from each other!

A quite good nose, but not so Ben Nevis. Thick influences of wood, honey, vanilla, and some fruit. Typical bourbon matured whisky. In the background there is also an little hay note. With water comes a more well known dirty note. Still not clearly Ben Nevis, but getting there!
    • Taste
      87 87
Heavy on the alcohol. This one is over places. You get a clear bourbon influence, so vanilla, cream and caramel. But there is also a flint of peat in here. It might need water taste-wise. With water it opens up more. More sweet and sour notes and a tad of the classic meaty note.

Medium length. There is an odd sour note in here. It's a bit dusty too, not quite comparable with the nose and taste.
