I find this Aultmore suitably chosen for the summer, a nice intense but still fresh single malt that has really convinced. Fruity sweetness, some wood with beautiful spicy notes and not too heavy for these temperatures.

This Aultmore smells very pleasant. Beautiful sherry notes rise in the nose, first you get inlaid raisins, then some tropical yellow fruit, a slight freshness is noticeable. Beautiful full sweet notes of honey, cereals and some freshly baked cake. Wonderfully intense the whole. Every now and then you get a little alcohol, but not disturbing. You stay with your nose on the glass and just enjoy.
    • Taste
      87 87
In terms of taste, the Aultmore clearly shows its intensity despite its potency, at the beginning nicely intense and thick, sherry notes, then you can feel a creeping dryness running down the palate. But then full of sweetness, a little cake and cereal until the oranges and citrus notes on the palate make wide. Again and again, a wood tone with beautiful spices and a little floral, warm to taste. The wood, however, remains in the background, probably depends on the small age. Overall, a nice fresh Sherrymalt that fits the hot summer.

In the finish dominate the fruits, medium you get beautiful oranges and spices delivered, a light acidity that turns into a chocolate tone.

Nose: fresh sugared strawberries, gooseberries, cream yoghurt, a big helping of sweet cherries, Black Forest cake, great nose for such a young malt, some freshly baked breakfast rolls
Taste: the taste keeps what promises the nose, more thick cherries and strawberries, in addition cake bottom and a balanced seasoning, alcohol is wonderfully integrated and requires no water
Finish: medium long, but definitely the weakness of this malts, compared to the nose and the taste, one would like to take the next sip
Conclusion: The summer release lives up to its name and you have found a great barrel. Not overly complex, but a full pack of summer fruits.

    Weird, weird, not well-behaved.
    Refreshing Aperol alternative for Maltheads;)

Fermented fruits and glue - phew, that's funky and pretty special. Also yeasty, the whole thing, but not uninteresting and better with time. It's different, there's an extra point for that!
    • Taste
      85 85
Sparkling orange shower, sweetened grapefruit, it whips between sweet and sour. Also reminds of apricot house schnapps.
    • Finish
      85 85
Becoming a bit bitter with roasted hazelnuts.

Gingerbread, a little bitter orange peel, toasted aromas on the finish, then becoming sweeter on the palate, dry, nutty. You can do it, but you don't have to.

Nice light, almost refreshing malt. The typical herbal note like I had on many Aultmore is also present here.
    • Nose
      86 86
fresh start, rather summery light, sweet berries and cherries, something that reminds me of melons, with slightly sour notes of currants, gooseberries, grapefruit with a subtle mint note, herbs with thyme, fresh bread dough and slightly malty, forest honey, creme brule
    • Taste
      85 85
fruity-sweet appearance of berries, cherries, red apples with great spicy wood notes, alcohol is well integrated here, exotic fruits of pineapple, mango and peach come through,
    • Finish
      83 83
rather short finish, fruity sweet, slightly dry with milk chocolate

I think the average score for this is surprising, this one is far to dry for me to enjoy but there is a nice Turkish Delight note that come through.
