The 2009 Distiller’s Edition was distilled in 1993, and had a second maturation in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks that gave it a dark, rich copper color. The nose is smoky and spicy, with nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie notes. The taste is smoky and peppery, but well-balanced as the pepper fades to reveal sherry cask-influenced raisin and fig notes, along with a slight taste of red wine. The finish is thick and sweet with minimal smokiness.

What I have often enjoyed about the Distillers Edition is the
sophistication of each different bottle released. They all have
individual character that are hard to match up. I love the smoke, peat and lush fruit like complexity in each drink. When you add a few drops of water it comes alive and the palate just gets more vibrant and a finish that`s equally wonderful. Do a vertical and taste the difference!

Remember it\'s maturity that makes whisky great! That\'s why I Love The Glenrothes! Signature Picture
