Whisky Reviews for Balblair 1990 DR

  1. skeuma scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

I often have a preference for balblair in bourbon. Once is not custom it is confirmed here. On the nose of malt, grapes, dried fruits, it does not seem too sweet. In the mouth whaa it is strong alcoholic integration is to review. A dilution helps to calm the fire and to release notes of dried fruit and wood. This is where the bottom hurts once again .. The wood is too present, disturbing and it is sorely lacking in fruit, roundness and amplitude. I do not understand why it comes out single cask and cask strength .. Commercial argument? Raised note for the nose
