Whisky Reviews for Scapa 2005 GM
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.87 points
- Context is everything. Had this as an in store sample after some bolder drams, and rated it 75 as I found it very dull and simple. Now in a line up of 9 Scapa it stands out as more full bodied than most others. Go figure. Not sure what that says about me or my score, but there it is. I’ll stick with my score from the Scapa lineup as it’s probably a more fair representation against other Scapa. Still not blowing my hair back.
Bubblegum, honey, pepper, ginger, apple, unripe pear
Soft wax, decent mouthfeel, dried strawberry, honey, pine
A bit of minty gum, honey, floral, more mouthcoating than the others
- Nose: apple. pear, vanilla, honey, citrus.
Mouth: malted barley, porridge, pear, green pepper, wax, chalk.
Finish: medium with the same flavours, some lemon and a sweet bitterness.
