"This is a really lovely single malt but it needs time and it does have a problem in that it's been bottled - in my opinion - at too weak strength."

First dram from a new bottle, rest 10 minutes in the glass and added some drop of water

This is the best part of the whisky. Immediately sherry arrives in the nose with alcohol that seems more powerful than 43abv, may be due to the fact that was the first dram of the bottle.
Some apricot, orange and grass in background, also a little bit of medicinal note.
    • Taste

Spices and citric are the main protagonists, a little bit of vanilla. The alcohol, also if some water has been added, gives the idea of a 46abv or more.

Sweet and not so long, some wood at the very end.

2nd try - today i gave him a lot of time to develop - and I think the reaction with oxygen after opening the bottle was helpfull. Still a little thin but the taste is much better today

    Bottler's tasting notes:
Aroma: Distinctly malty initially with fresh aromas of a woodland hedgerow. Delicate sherry notes linger and weave with rich indulgent toffee, sweet liquorice, and orange marmalade.
Taste: Reminiscent of a black forest cake; the initial sweetness develops into fruity blackcurrant jam, maraschino cherry, and creamy vanilla. Freshly peeled orange notes add a fresh lift.
Finish: Well rounded; hints of candied citrus fruits and oak complement the lingering malty edge.
