A pleasant but simple grain lacking any ethanol or glue notes.

Tasted with Caledonian 35yo HL 14271 (79 pts.), Caledonian 41yo HL 11836 (84), Carsebridge 41yo 1976 CA 49,1% (86), Carsebridge 44yo HL 14189 (82), and Carsebridge 52yo 1964 Dramfool 5th (89).

Nose

Flour and white sugar. Very light, with some dry oak. Water makes it a bit acidic and brings a note of shaved wood, with a side of cardamom.

Taste

Simple, with dry oak and sugar. Syrupy pastries, and some faint candy notes. Doesn't develop much with water, in fact I'd say it's best neat.

Finish

Hollow, but gentle and sweet.

Not too much Caledonian around either. Most that I’ve had have been good to excellent.

N: Apple and yeasty pear snow [like apple snow but with pears].
T: Juicy, not too chemical and with an easy chew.
F: Succulent dry and balanced.
C: Relatively youthful-yet-ready grain.
