Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 1990 SV
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.62 points
- Very spirituous in taste and nose. Nothing from cask was given for so many years
- A very exceptional whisky with a high recognition value. Since I would like to have something more than a sample of the Edradour distillery!
Sweet and spicy, reminiscent of a stand at the fair with candied roasted nuts. This is creamy and fat, like butter.
Plum, plum, rum pot. Salty
Medium long, beautiful, oak discreetly.
- In store sample.
I am shocked to learn this is refill sherry. Wow. What a dead cask I totally agree with the other reviewer. At 27 years some interesting things should be going on and while it’s pretty alright whisky, with 2019s whisky prices comes intense scrutiny. An easy pass from me
- peat or more smoked? wooded?
iodine, almost no peat
fruits on candied citrus fruits
fine peat, iodine always present, it is what puts more flavors in the mouth, because besides the fruits well compotés (lemon and bark of lemon more a little mandarin), the impression is almost flat, more velvety
it is at this moment that the peat and the wood do their work with the fruit, but it is much sweeter than a 10 or 15 years, as if the specific characters were lost a little on the way!
