    This Octomore is fun! He is complex and comes with a good portion of various sweet flavors around the corner. The 10 years put the whole thing on the crown. Very clear recommendation from my side. A similarity to the OBA Concept exists.

    Dark Earl Gray with a sting that goes reddish.

    Very sweet, stuffy, concentrated Octomore smoke, behind it are directly blueberry pancakes, which then transform into waffles with hot cherries. Some salt and shoe polish. The alcohol is, as always with Bruichladdich, beautifully integrated. After 15 minutes, the oak comes to light. The nose is already a lot of fun, there is definitely more to discover here.

    Powerful, a flavor explosion in the mouth. Nevertheless, to drink very well undiluted. On the tongue finally show the 10 years of maturation. First, one wonders about the lack of sweetness, but after a few seconds, at the latest when swallowing, the wood gives way to the sweet cargo.

    Dark berries, salt, licorice. Then it gets drier and slower. Far later you get something like menthol and tobacco.
    The finish is of course long and gives you a long time pleasure.

    My first try at the 10yr, and I regret not trying them sooner. This is so fruity and balanced, the peat never rears up, it’s very much worth trying for the few $ more than the regular series.
    • Nose
      90 90
      Mild (for a Octomore), creamy, vanilla, ashy peat, lemon zest, bbq, raspberry, blueberry
    • Taste
      93 93
      Wow, blueberry jam, bbq ribs, vanilla ice cream, cinnamon, the peat is here but nowhere near the level of the regular series, this makes it so much more balanced and enjoyable
    • Finish
      91 91
      Mixed berrys, ash, lemon custard, juicy and long

    - one of the best Octomore bottlings I know
    - very good mixture of extreme smoke and sweet vanilla / caramel flavors
    - extremely recommendable in terms of taste, priced ne real house number
    • Nose
      very strong intense smoky note, behind it very sweet, toffee, caramel, vanilla
    • Taste
      first soft start for the 57%, but then surprisingly stronger in the mouth, really rises in the palate => like a smoke explosion that rises ...
      But it's not just smoke, many delicate side aromas are to be explored, very complex
    • Finish
      medium-long soft finish,
      very long, strongly smoky aftertaste

    Very nice whisky. Despite the smoke, you can smell well. Very complex for old age
    • Nose

      Very long, wonderful!

    The drums used fill a DIN A 4 page ....
    the price is again demanding,
    but this 10 year old Octomore is also a wonderfully complex, intense, multi-layered TOP whisky!
    [Color] = gold;
    • Nose
      Peat smoke, campfire, pipe tobacco, berries, cherries, sweet vanilla, wood;
    • Taste
      oily, creamy appearance, ashes, smoke, dark fruit, cane sugar, caramel, vanilla, again tobacco, leather, complex;
    • Finish
      quite long, oily, smoky; also salt and oak;

    Absolutely gorgeous. Classic Octomore, with those big savoury and medicinal smoke notes, balanced by the rich fruit sweetness. It’s maybe the more complex of the two as well. The port and cognac casks give it this incredibly rich sweetness. There’s a fruit syrup note on the palate that’s just incredible. Stellar stuff.

    Nose: Savoury and sweet. Salted-egg-flavour seaweed rice crackers, maple-glazed salmon, bandages, and iodine. Sweet barley, buttered sourdough toast, toffee, coffee chocolate truffles, candied citrus peel, and roasted red peppers. The red fruit comes out after a little bit, with some blood orange, raspberry yogurt, and strawberry ice cream. Some creamy tropical fruit joins after some more nosing. Smoked salt, rock quarry, and road tar.

    Palate: Medium body. Baked apples, tart orange, fragrant cedar, browned butter, and woody smoke on the arrival. Something like a hard wine-soaked cheese. A blast of sweet tangerine, peach, and dark chocolate on the development, with fruit cocktail, plums, honey, demerara sugar, and nutmeg. Soot, dunnage warehouse, and pepper steak. Fruit chutney and salami to go with the cheese.

    Finish: Sweet and syrupy. More salmon, tidal flats, and black pepper. Grilled citrus, peach nectar, lychee, dark chocolate, orange pekoe, craft cola, sugar cookies, and charred marshmallows.

    As if heaven smooched earth!
    • Nose
      True octomore. Sweet, deep, non-overarching smokiness.
    • Taste
      Very round. The 167ppm are extremely well integrated. Great balance, sweet components, greasy smoke.
      Beech wood smoke from freshly smoked Lake Constance skins.
    • Finish
      Long, sweet-smoky finish. South Korean Christmas cake. With pudding.

      The nose is great! Great sweet Octomore notes as you know them. You could smell for hours on the glass.
    • Taste
      88 88
      The initial is great and after the dram has spread on the tongue, it immediately dries and redistributes to the palate. Unfortunately, the Virgin Oaks are getting a bit dominant and the sweetness is being replaced by them.
    • Finish
      87 87
      In the finish, the slightly bitter notes of the Virgin Oaks penetrate, and unfortunately it ends the tasting with a slightly negative touch.

    Another excellent Octomore from Bruichladdich. It lacks a bit of complexity, but makes up for it with boldness and power.
    • Nose
      Hints of malted barley and straw, with notes of tobacco as well. A pronounced peat influence, obviously. There's a touch of varnish, as well as vanilla custard, golden syrup and bitter oranges peel.
    • Taste
      Warm and comforting bonfire smoke, with leather and tobacco leaves, and a touch of medicinal peat and rubber. A whiff of marzipan.
    • Finish
      Lingering vanilla, ash, and smoke. Long.
