Not a bad dram by any means, but just veers towards a little too sweet. Lacks a little cohesion and excitement. One that I’ll pour and not think too much about. Which works sometimes!
Edit: I was a little too mean to this at 85. It’s very solid modern Bowmore really. Nothing earth shattering, but really no FWP at all, as I was expecting from an 80s bottling. I think 87 is a fair score.
Not a very expressive nose. A little smoke in the form of cigarette ash, some white stone fruits, but it’s muted. Simple syrup. Fairly light and summery, but pleasant.
Flavours gain steam here with the ash building along with fruity notes and some agave syrup. A tad sweet, but some nice flavours.
Keeps building to a nice robust finish. Definitely the best part for me. Nice ashtray smoke co-mingling with fruit cocktail in light syrup.
