That's almost liqueur, the sweetness is not extreme, the feeling here is rather the tough density. Otherwise, the whole thing looks very harmonious and overwhelmed at any time. Amazing is the contradiction between nose and taste and the relatively bright color.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

So I would never have come to a wine finish, was clearly Sherry for me! Oloroso in the nose and PX wet finish in the mouth. Originally I had typed on Glen Moray, but then found no suitable filling for me.
    • Nose

While the very first breath is still dark, fruity and sweet, it first looks very spicy and sweaty with a lot of brandy. After some rest, a very deep dark sweetness is present, together with a lot of barrel acid and a still enormous spiciness. Resinous beet syrup, only darker and actually an idea garlic. Approaches of effervescent sparkle now and then. First of all, the alcohol in the nose pricks up warmly, then a clearly defined acidity comes along, reminiscent of cheap (not bad) plum jam, too light for the good. With increasing temperature, the whole harmonizes to a much lighter and sweeter Sherrymalt with date bread and some Kahlua.

In the mouth he is much sweeter than expected, dark honey and dates here too. The entrance is powerful, to the rear comes a little eucalyptus, the oak keeps amazingly covered, only a trace of well sweetened espresso can be seen. The mouthfeel is very dense and oily. The second sip looks a bit thinner and shows significantly more barrel acid.
    • Finish
      85 85
The finish is rather on the sweet side and is surprisingly short. However, he warms up very well.

Nose: an acidic fruit note is the first thing you notice, has something of cider and apricots, also a nice malt note and a lot of honey sweetness, in the background then a slightly earthy nut note and fresh dark garden herbs. Really fresh and summery in character.

Taste: oh yes a lot of honey, the alcohol is noticeable with a pleasant tingle at 57.7%, creamy with toffee, apple wine and apricot jam, then a lot of caramel and a bit of bitter oak in the finish, it remains tingling and fresh (really refreshing) then turns into some bitter wood and at the end of the medium-long finish a dry grape sweetness remains.

Conclusion: really tasty and refreshing - very easy!

In a blindtasting my guess was 15yo, refill bourbon hoggie, 53%, Speyside. I couldn't place the sweetness, which seemed rather malty but turns out to be winey.
Decent stuff that benefits from water greatly, but a 5cl sample is sufficient for my tongue and liver.

    • Nose
Begins with a full salty sweetness, burly-sweet Moscatel sherry, caramel, vanilla and a fruit pulp with banana, apple and almond. Later follow oak, strawberries and fruit chews.
With water: nut oil, sherry and a lot of cereals. Gradually, too, cocoa and notes of bananas.
    • Taste
On the one hand sweet and fruity with apples, bananas and pears, but on the other hand also quite grassy as well as foliage, almonds and half-ripe hazelnuts. Maybe even a trace of salt.
With water: fruity-dry Sherry note, grass, malt and nuts. Becomes very sweet and develops a fragrant berry.
    • Finish
Long, nutty and delicately fruity sherry notes.

Robust whisky, very rich as for 10-year-old. The nose is very nice and opens up really well with water. Despite its age this Glen Moray already shows some complexity. Definitely requires dilution.
    • Nose
Sweet and fresh with easy recognizable muscat wine notes, citruses, vanilla, hint of honey, ripe pears, lemon zest, light oak notes. Water opens up fruit acid drops, candied citrus zest and light flowery notes, some cocoa butter
    • Taste
Very sweet, spicy, fruity (yellow pears, apricots), maltiness, vanilla pie, different citruses, some oak
    • Finish
Long, slowly getting dry, malty, sweet, marmalade, walnut shells, oaky tannins

Classic Glen Moray distillery character in its unadulterated form with a restrained Moscatel cask finish to compliment it.

Nose: sweet malt, creamy toffee, apricots, mint

Palate: malt sweetness, apricots, cream, marmalade

Finish: rich, delicate, cherries, caramel, bitter oak, sweet grapes

This is a fresh simple easy going but good and honest whisky. It is rich gentle and well rounded, the ABV is well integrated. A tasty showcase of the Glen Moray distillery character and a nice summer dessert dram, 86/87 in my book.

with water: The nose definitely needs no water, but in the mouth it already has a certain Aalkohol sharpness, so let's try it with a few drops - in the nose it is a little sweeter, but also fresh (mint), the taste of the water very good, he gets softer, smarter

Conclusion: No grenade, but a thoroughly honest and really delicious malt, the finish fits like a fist on the eye, the Moscatel notes underline the Destilleriecharakter and add beautiful sweet fruit flavors - the Moscato finish is really good
    • Nose
      88 88
It starts with a sweetness that is reminiscent of precious rot, and then comes a whole fruit basket of sour, light fruits like apples, peaches, nectarines and mirabelle plums. In the background is always the malty, slightly earthy distillery character recognizable, rounded off by oak and a very subtle cinnamon / nutmeg note. The alcohol is well integrated
    • Taste
      87 87
Again, the beautiful sweetness of slightly angegorenen fruits, the oak is a bit stronger here, as well as the alcohol impact
    • Finish
      86 86
The finish is long, carried by oak, and a more restrained sweetness, in the fruit I am now in Apfelkerngehäuse and a little pear
