An explosive mixture, IMHO, you can drink it but it's difficult ... especially in summer (((
obviously required a long time to breathe, the whole evening did not help him ...
sorry ... on a summer evening we recklessly opened a bottle ... we must try it in winter ...

Nose: lingonberry jam, cardamom buns, redcurrant jelly and rye bread, toasted cloves, cacao nibs and purple carrots, tamarillos and verjus
Palate: black cherry sauce, rosehips and Fry's Turkish Delight
Finish: raspberry jam doughnuts and wet oak chips, parsnips and mastiha

    With water
Nose: herbal, rhododendrons, apricot kernels, dark chocolate lebkuchen, pink wafers
Palate: honeyed, damson preserve and grenadine
Finish: Jaffa Cakes and orange oil

feels better balanced than the 18yo single cask.

The wine cask finish adds an extra dimension which has been done elegantly not overpowering the spirit.

One of the more preferred Auchentoshan’s I have tried.
    • Nose

Sweet beginnings with apple, rose, liquorice and milk chocolate. Baked goods of jelly donuts and sugar loaded cereals with a touch of cinnamon.
    • Taste
      81 81
Fruitiness with passionfruit, red grape, dates and cherries. Followed by vanilla, pencil cases and a green herbaceous tinge.
    • Finish
      78 78
Finished with a slight wood driven tannic grip, the grape persisting with a spice similar to craft cola or root beer.

Smells light and fruity but packs a wood-influenced punch! This is not a dram for everyone. Has the character of a big barbarian weapon-smith.

This one gives big and dignified noses, however, the palate is a little bit watery, not very complex though.
    • Nose
In a blind tasting, I felt this whisky is really old and big, tobacco, mushroom and fresh grapes, metallic and sea air.
    • Taste
The palate is simpler, sweet and leathery, fresh cut herbs.
    • Finish
      Minty and very refreshing
