If you like Glenfarclas from the sherry barrel you will love this one.
Despite the young age, the alcohol is well integrated.
The nose sweet caramel, a little something of the stews with roasted almonds - delicious!

On the palate then unexpectedly gentle - really impressive at the very high ABV.

And there they are the popcorn notes - that's what I love about the young sherry piglets! A mixture of nuts and warm milk rice with cinnamon and sugar join it .. delicious.

The finish stays with pleasant sherry notes and lingers for a moment.

For the money you get here an incredibly great whisky in the glass. For me a real recommendation!

    • Nose
Fresh and fruity; slightly alcoholic; slight wine-sourness; in the background a light tobacco note
    • Taste
mild; fruity, then sweet. Then comes nut; and then the barrel shows itself Dark chocolate, sherry; nice spice; then it gets slightly bitter, but the nut stays there. Amazingly strong, gets dry in the mouth
    • Finish
      Oak; spices; Nut; Tobacco; Nutmeg; then sweet, then harsh again;

According to not to be named sources this is a Glenfarclas
    • Nose
      87 87
The nose starts of with fresh red fruits and a tiny hint of tobacco. The sherry stands out in this, it's like smelling a real fino sherry. This smell disappears after a couple of minutes in the glass and the spirit (barley sugars) becomes dominant with raisins in the background
    • Taste
      84 84
The taste is spirit driven, almost flowery. The sherry is almost indiscernible. Quit a large contrast with the nose which i often find in younger sherried cask strength whiskies
    • Finish
      84 84
The finish is long, dry, peppery but unfortunately quite one dimensional with a slight bitter barrel note at the end
