Whisky Reviews for Old Ballantruan 15-year-old
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.70 points
- pouty nose rather fat pulling BRUICHLADICH or ARDBEG!
some dry wood, some leather, some vanilla
the mouth is more expressive, less peaty, vanilla again, the peat sweeter, more creamy, caramel melted, toasted, dark chocolate, a little grassy too, spices and present fruits cooked a little macerated!
finish with some bitterness, vanilla, wood, peat here and cooked fruit.
- A good whisky to pair with cigars to enhance their taste. Stands by itself though.
Lightly peated, tobacco leaves, leather, honey/maltish and a bit of vanilla
Vanilla, butter and caramel in the mouth on a background of soft peat, with a tinge of oak
Soft finish getting hotter in tobacco and chocolate/soft woodiness and a small leathery ending
- Great new drink, tasted during a visit to the distillery, I think not even available in store :)
